Featuring a cappella Corsican songs by
A FILETTA APOCRIFU
He is considered one of the most exciting contemporary choreographers, a “charismatic dance prodigy”. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui was born in Antwerp in 1976 to Belgian and Moroccan parents. His very productive last few years have enabled him to make a strong impact on the world of European dance. “Apocrifu” is another excellent work in which he impresses his audience with his incredible range of motion and his mastery of all styles of dance.
The different temperaments of dance in the main solos, original duets and pantomimes are as varied as the forgotten written and spoken tales brought to light on stage along with thousands of books.
The seven singers of the renowned Corsican group “A Filetta” accompany the action with their wondrous, beautiful and exotic songs, which are based on liturgical and poetic texts. “Apocrifu” is an event you won’t want to miss!
Co-production : De Munt / La Monnaie with Festival de danse de Cannes.
