PIERRE RIGAL / AURÉLIEN BORY Toulouse
Sometimes reverse jellyfish, sometimes crocodile silently crawling, Icarus without wings, sad clown of all times
A lone man lies on the floor within a green outlined rectangle. He uses his body as an instrument, telling the audience of his attempt to move from lying to standing on his own two feet, including all of the failures, relapses, mishaps and mistakes. The creature known as man is like Icarus without his wings, the most tragic clown of all time. His only support comes from sound and image effects.
Pierre Rigal was born in 1973 and was originally involved in track and field sports (400 m dash and hurdles). He started dancing after completing his studies at the ESAV in Toulouse, he turned to dance. He founded the “compagnie dernière minute“ in 2003 and developed his first piece: “Érection“. Aurélien Bory, born in 1972, lives and works in Toulouse. He is Artistic Director of “Cie 111“ and has collaborated on numerous international projects, most recently with Pierre Rigal in China (“les sept plaches de la ruse”) in 2007.
